things first. Imagine that the European initiative of ' Intelligent Auto can really go forward, after the devastating crisis in the sector. It must go out, in fact, not only with a car more environmentally friendly and possibly zero emission (electric or hydrogen car, for instance). But also with intelligent cars, safe, able to communicate with each other and with road infrastructure able to use the new technologies of communication and radio-electric spectrum, European and global in order to help the driver avoid congestion, to ensure improve the flow of urban traffic safety and efficiency and also in that of large displacements.
I feel that if they occupy almost the only manufacturers and very little, very little , the "lords of Telecommunications". Yet there is a close relationship between the ICT and Intelligent Transport Systems, for a sustainable quality of vision. The ITS systems will increasingly need intelligent solutions and "cooperative" Vecoli-vehicle communication (V2V) and vehicle-infrastructure (V2I or vice versa). Because the cars communicate with each other and with sensors and "warning" on the roadside (in the city and in extra-urban) is expected to use the frequencies from 2010 "free" around 5 GHz.
